Gold Medal for DIPOL and Redbeam illuminators.
Securex trade fair (Poznan, Poland, April 26-29, 2010) is a great event on a European scale. It is held every two years, the Fair medals are awarded by a group of scientists evaluating the innovative character and effectiveness of the presented technical solutions.At this year's Fair, DIOPOL company was rewarded for a series of Redbeam IR illuminators, receiving the Gold Medal.
Redbeam illuminators greatly increase monitoring capabilities by improving the effectiveness of video surveillance in low light conditions. Their construction is based on the use of solutions in the field of microelectronics - LED array. Their distinguishing features include much higher luminous flux compared to conventional LED-based solutions, lower power consumption, eight times longer lifetime and the ability to shape the beam with optical lenses (there are also available 180/360-degree ceiling-mounted versions).
Affordable prices mean that in a short time Redbeam illuminators will become the basis of monitoring systems in difficult lighting conditions.

Antenna monument in Plemeur-Bodou.
In response to the launch of the Soviet Union's first artificial Earth satellite in 1957, the Americans undertook an extensive space program. Its most spectacular result was the landing of Apollo 11 on the Moon in 1969.But on the way to this success and the first step on the Moon, there were many less impressive (from our current point of view) steps in the field of technology. One of them was the first intercontinental television broadcast. It took place on July 11, 1962 - transmission of TV signal from the U.S. to France via Telstar satellite.
Telstar was launched into orbit by NASA from Cape Canaveral on July 10, 1962. The orbit was suitable for the transatlantic transmission by only 20 minutes during each revolution around the Earth. Telstar transmitted the first long-distance telephone call and the first TV picture via satellite on the launch day - it was an image of a flying American flag on the pole facing the ground station in Andover, Maine.
The Andover Earth Station was built by AT&T Bell Laboratories. In France, the signals were received and broadcast in Plemeur-Bodou. Due to the location of the satellites in low orbit (much below geostationary), on the ground there were used giant horn antennas, tracking the satellites. A giant horn antenna in Andover was 7 stories high and weighed 340 tons, its counterpart in France - 34 m high, 54 m long, 280 tons of weight. The transmission frequencies of the latter - 6.69 GHz uplink, 4.12 GHz downlink. On September 29, 2000, the horn antenna in Plemeur-Bodou was declared a monument.
We invite you to take part in the "Engagingly about antennas" contest. The works for the 9th edition can be submitted from June 1st, however the pictures can be taken anytime - just look for an interesting topic!

Integration of RF and IP services using Signal TV-FM-SAT/RJ-45/RJ-11 outlets.
The growing popularity of interactive services, development of DLNA technology, widespread availability of media players that may download material for playback from LAN network - all this requires a new approach to building wiring.A good practice is laying, next to the coaxial cable, at least one UTP cable and connecting it to combined outlets.
The above system allows to:
- distribute terrestrial TV channels and independent satellite signals from two satellites - using the R6944804 multiswitch;
- distribute access to the Internet (provided wirelessly);
- use additional services offered by satellite platforms (access to a number of websites on the TV screen);
- get access to multimedia stored on computers, media players, NAS;
- distribution of keys to decode satellite signals.
Monitoring of the parking lot at a supermarket - wireless analog transmission.
The newly opened supermarket, due to many bumps in the parking lot, has invested in CCTV system covering this area. The aggrieved customers can get access to archival video footage from which they are able to recognize license plate numbers of the authors of the damage.For economic reasons, the owners have chosen analog wireless transmission, well suitable for a comparatively small system and easy to install. The investment required to build 7 camera points, equipped with Sunell SN-586C/B WDR M11208 cameras with TOKINA M2311 lenses, put in Marathon M5406 housings. The signals from the cameras are transmitted wirelessly to HIKVISION/ULTIMAX DS-8108HDI-S H.264 DVR ( M76080 ), using Wireless A/V Transmission System CamSAT TCO5807h M1559, operating in the 5.8 GHz band .
The TCO5807h wireless transmission system has been designed to transmit analog audio and video signals over distances up to 2 km. It is a complete wireless system primarily dedicated for applications in analog CCTV. The set consists of transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) using unlicensed ISM band (5725 MHz - 5875 MHz). Aside from wireless transmission of video and sound in professional CCTV systems, the set can be used wherever one requires reliable, long-range AV links.

The requirements for the system were very high. In addition to continuous operation for 24 hours a day, it had to integrate fixed and 360-degree PTZ IP cameras with multiple optical zoom.
The tender was won by Hikvision, offering the most reliable and complete solutions.
The tender was won by Hikvision, offering the most reliable and complete solutions.
They include the latest Hikvision 2 Mpx cameras based on 1/3" CMOS sensors and using H.264 compression. The cameras have slots for SD memory cards. This simple solution prevents loss of video footage even in the case of LAN failure. A very helpful tool for the surveillance staff is hardware motion detection which includes the definition of the area and sensitivity level. The most detailed monitoring is possible with the speed dome cameras with pan range of 360 degrees and 36x optical zoom, using H.264 compression.
The system entirely based on the H.264 compression products significantly reduces the network bandwidth required for transmission of video streams. The control and video recording functions are managed by dedicated software that includes many innovative solutions.

It should be noted that government organizations, such as the army or police, very rarely use solutions provided by foreign manufacturers. Typically, due to political and economic reasons, such tenders are won by the national suppliers. However, in this case, the quality and technical level of the solutions did not give any chance to local competitors. Hikvision also provides unrivaled solutions for the South American civilian market.
Hikvision products are also well known and appreciated in the European market. The recently introduced Hikvision/Ultimax DVRs ensure the highest quality of video recording from analog cameras. We also offer high quality IP cameras of Ulticam series: K1140, K1440, K1441. For simpler applications we recommend Ultimax 104 M71040 and Ultimax 204 M72040 DVRs. For professional monitoring centers we offer the DS-1003KI M77920 consoles.
Home Gigabit LAN and high speed WLAN - TP-LINK devices.
New functions of home and office LAN and WLAN networks associated with the transmission of video streams require more bandwidth than provided by the traditional Fast Ethernet.It is recommended to build modern LANs even when the external links have low capacity, because the LAN parameters are important to transfer audio-video files from local servers to the playback devices (computers, televisions etc.) and CCTV images from cameras to the DVRs or recording servers.
The network can be based on TL-WR1043ND N3253 which comprises Access Point (802.11n/b/g), broadband router (for xDSL or cable modem) and 4-port Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch.
TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND N3253 provides a quick and convenient way of building a wired and wireless network based on one external broadband service. The network, consisting of a number of computers, is additionally protected by the built-in firewall.
A big advantage of the device is the possibility of connecting an external USB drive. With this option, each computer on the local network can use such a network drive (NAS). An additional advantage is the ability to set permissions for users ("full access" or "read only").
